1. Who we are
RadioSats is an independent telephone support service for car satellite radio. We are not a satellite radio provider, broadcaster or vehicle manufacturer, and we are not affiliated with any of them. This policy explains what personal information we handle when you call us or use this website, and what we do with it.
The registered entity operating this service, and its address, are shown in the footer of every page on this site.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
When you call the helpline, our specialist may ask for:
- your name and a contact number or email address;
- details of the vehicle and the radio equipment involved;
- a description of the problem, and any reference or account number you choose to read out to us;
- where a chargeable service is agreed, the billing details needed to take payment.
You decide what to tell us. If you would rather not give a piece of information, say so — we will tell you whether we can still help without it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records basic technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, the page that referred you, and the date and time. We use this to keep the site working and to understand which pages are useful.
3. Phone calls
Calls to the helpline may be monitored or recorded for training and quality purposes. Where a call is recorded, you will be told at the start of the call and may ask us not to record it. Recordings are kept only for the period set out in section 7.
Your telephone network, not this website, connects your call. Standard call charges from your provider apply.
4. How we use it
- To answer your call and work through the problem with you.
- To follow up if a call drops or an issue needs a second conversation.
- To take payment where a chargeable service has been agreed in advance.
- To improve how the service is delivered, including specialist training.
- To measure how well our advertising works — for example, how many people who saw an advertisement went on to call.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
5. Cookies and tracking
This site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Necessary — make the site work; these cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — tell us which pages are viewed and for how long, in aggregate.
- Advertising — where we run advertisements, these record that a visit or a call resulted from a particular advertisement.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you calling the helpline. Where we use Google services for analytics or advertising, Google’s own privacy policy also applies to the data it collects.
6. Who we share with
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who operate our telephone system, website hosting or payment processing, and only so far as they need it to provide that service to us;
- Analytics and advertising platforms, in the limited form described in section 5;
- Professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers, where necessary;
- Authorities, where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
7. How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it. In practice that means call records and support notes for up to 24 months, payment and accounting records for as long as tax law requires, and website analytics in aggregated form that no longer identifies you. When a period ends, information is deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete information we no longer have a reason to keep;
- stop using your details to contact you.
Write to us at the email address in section 13 and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on a request.
9. California residents
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request its deletion, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. As stated in section 4, we do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 13.
10. Children
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the information we hold, and we limit access to the people who need it to do their job. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Please do not send full payment card numbers or similar sensitive details by email.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the revised version on this page and update the date at the top.
13. Contact us
Questions about this policy, or about the information we hold, can go to Info@radiosats.com, or call +1 (844) 654-4009.
Note for review: this policy is a working draft written to match how the service actually operates. Have it checked by a qualified adviser before relying on it, and make sure sections 3 and 7 describe what you really do with call recordings.
